Survival Skills Training Camp Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

 

1.  Where is this Camp located?

We can let  you know that FREEMAN Ancestral Survival Skills Training Camp is located in the Mid-Atlantic, Region, in Virginia, CAMP FREEMAN in a semi-wilderness area with near primitive conditions, less than a Hour away from Richmond, Virginia.

However, due to our efforts to maintain security Our policy is that We do not  announce the exact location until 2 weeks prior to the actual camp. This gives us the chance to review weather forecasts and other pertinent information before picking the right areas.  Also,We do not give out the location of the training camp site until after the full  payment has been received.

 

2. When is the Fall camp held?

It is always the 1st Saturday weekend in October.

 

3.  What type of Survival Camp is this?

FREEMAN Ancestral Survival Skills Training Camp is geared towards outdoor wilderness survival training skills”

FREEMAN Ancestral Survival Skills Training Camp is a camp that focuses on building individual as well as group awareness and  survival, we teach core survival and preparedness skills. Rugged and Rigid time We hold everyone to the highest standard throughout the training course. You are expected to stay the whole weekend.

We want you to have a very positive experience and gain a strong foundation of leadership skills.

 

4.  Does a  Person with Some Survival Skills experience (such as Military etc.) have to start at the lower Training level? Also does the price includes fees that I may have to pay to buy Money orders or to send money? Yes!  Each person regardless of their experience must complete the entire program from beginning to end.  Also to become Certified through Survival Network as an Instructor each person regardless of their experience must complete the entire program from beginning to end!

5.  Would the camp still go on, if it is to hot, cold or something?

Yes, it probably will be hot (or cold), it might rain, there will be insect pests, the days will be long and the training will be completed regardless!

 

6.  Are there restroom facilities?

We use the wilderness for our needs. / (Male) and (Female) are in Separate areas.

 

7.  Are there facilities for us to sleep in and provided food for everyone?

No, all participants are ask to bring their own tent, however, we do have limited tents available to rent. (There are no RVs or such allowed; and there are no Tents or Shelters or any formal building structures located on the actual campsite.)

Also no, we do not provide food. With all of the various dietary restrictions, we require you to provide your own meals.

Although, we teach wild food foraging and expedite shelter construction, these skills are not required until our students reach the SOLO Skills Training Course Level.

Therefore, you will cook your own food over an open fire and sleep in your tent under the stars.

 

 8.  What kind of food do we bring to eat?

You may bring food that does not have to be really cook for a long time, but can be prepared quickly and easily. One-pot meals, canned foods or just-add-water meals are highly recommended.

 

9.  Can I bring my Children?

Yes, Children as young as 6 years old are welcomed as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult not an older sibling under the age of 21. We do not provide babysitting services.  Therefore, children that are younger than six (6) are welcome as long as the Children that are underage are controlled, quiet through our classroom and demonstration, as well as, able to sleep through the night, to avoid disturbing other paying participants.

 

10.  Do we have free time for my child(ren) to do homework or for me to do other things not pertaining to the survival camp training activities?

Yes.  However, it is very limited time therefore, you must choose your time wisely.    The free allotted time is only mainly during the time of eating and taking care of your hygiene.  Training activities take priority over free time. (Note: Remember this is a survival camp; therefore, you will be in survival mode the complete time.)

 

11.  Are the Disabled and Pregnant Women allowed to attend and participate?

Yes, However night exercises will not be available for disabled and pregnant participants. All activities will be according to your own physical limitations.

 

12.  Do we have to participate in all training activities?

No, each student will be pushed to his/her own limits of endurance, stamina, morale, judgment and sound leadership.  Each person will be expected to make his/her utmost contribution and full commitment to him/herself and the entire group.

 

 13.  Would I be able to go to my auto or leave the campsite?  

No. Once you arrive, you would not able to go back and forth to your auto. You will remove everything that you will need for the entire weekend.

 

14.  Is there anything that we cannot bring?

Yes, you cannot bring perfumes or scented oils, alcoholic beverages or recreational drugs, tape recorders, radios and other electronics such as these.

 

15.  Will I need money?

Your tuition covers all billeting (housing), meals, admission to all scheduled activities, and transportation (transportation to and from registration is your responsibility). We recommend that you bring some spending money for anything you may wish to purchase

 

16.  Do I get to used my cell phone?

Yes, however, we prefer that cell phones be use only for emergency.

 

17.  Can we take pictures?

We Take Pictures with the permission of the participants only.

 

18.  Are there any refunds?

Refunds are issued only if a natural disaster occurs in our camp area. (If this ever occurs, we will notify you.)

 

19.  What is done with our information?

Only registered and attending participants, personal information is kept on file. Those who do not attend  your information is destroyed upon request. (We do not return any information)
